When to Use Line Boring
There are three basic reasons for line boring. The first is when it is necessary is to restore worn, out-of-round or damaged bores. The second reason is to restore proper bore alignment – a process which is often called align boring. Finally, line boring is needed to correct, or change, bore centers or bore alignment.
Line Boring Specifications
The majority of line boring machines are hydraulically powered. Other machines use pneumatic or electric power. It offers a wide range of speeds from 0-25mm per minute to a hand-feed revolution of 2mm. Line Boring is capable of machining bores as small as 1.5” and up to 80” in diameter.
Line Boring Applications
Line boring machines fit a wide range of industrial applications, such as high performance engines, transfer gearbox housings, driveshafts, hinge pins, gearboxes, and turbines.
